| While sailing through the South Pacific in the
1980s, Annie began doing watercolors and pen & ink sketches
of island scenes in Tahiti, Fiji, Tonga and Palmyra. This led to
painting fish on T shirts for sale in local boutiques, and when
she returned from cruising, Annie started a little company called
“Something Fishy” in Sausalito’s ICB. She did
imprints on T shirts, both hand painted and silk screened, with
emphasis on hand painted fish designs.
Currently she spends several months of the year on Maui where,
inspired by the sea, she paints “UnderseaScapes” –
watercolors of undersea scenes depicting reefs, fish, turtles, jellyfish
and seahorses - sometimes whimsical, sometimes realistic. A member
of the Kapalua Art School on Maui, she attends water color and silk
painting classes, and recently began painting “Underseascape”
designs on silk scarves.
