About Fortunato de Luna

I have been a sculptor since I can remember, creating art from fond objects when I was five or six. I have always had an attraction to and been inspired by the Earth’s palette. I love to Compose and create with the sensual lines and curves from Nature.

I was born I Mexico and immigrated to the United States when I was seven with my parents and siblings. I grew up in San Jose, CA. and have lived in Portland, Oregon for the past 12 years.

I was influenced early in life by sculpture Icons, Alexander Calder (for his colors and Movement), Leonardo de Vinci ( for his accuracy and innovation ) and Michelangelo Buonarroti (for his dynamic realism).

Three decades of experience in the building trade as a machinist, draftsman, and painter bring skill and craftsmanship to my work). Sustainability is a passion of mine and so I work almost exclusively with recycled materials and found objects. I love transforming castaways into sculpture.

Creativity and Sustainability

Works by Fortunato de Luna

As a sculptor and creator of sustainable art my focus is transforming recycled materials and found objects into fine art.

The greatest satisfaction I have as an artist is to transform what would have been thrown away into something magnificent, something that expands the heart and
mind of the viewer into a world of new possibilities.

In every moment of every day I collect images, natural limes and experiences that become manifest in my art in effortless flow. This is my greatest joy
